Main speaker -- DENNIS MELDRUM of FamilySearch on USING THE NEW DIGITAL LIBRARY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY. The new FamilySearch Digital Library is a collection of over 400,000 electronic books available onoline at FamilySearch for free. This collection contains books from the leading genealogy and family history collections in the US. You will learn how to find names, stories, and photos of your ancestors and how to use the recently changed book viewer which significantly reduces the response time. Beginning with the Oct 2019 meeting the group will be changing to a 2-hour format from 10 am to noon in the same Red Chapel. Watch for details. Members of the group receive via email the monthly newsletter TAGGology, which contains much helpful information about family history and technology, and they have access to the more than 400 videos of past presentations and classes. Officers are Gerhard Ruf, President; Laurie Castillo, 1st VP; Don Snow, 2nd VP; Marilyn Thomsen, Newsletter Editor; Rayanne Melick, Finance Officer; Bruce Merrill and Marie Andersen, Video Librarians; Eileen Phelps, Special Projects Coordinator; Carol Hill, FamilySearch Facebook Groups Coordinator, and Rick Wightman, Chris Stevenson, Brent Nelson, Jerry Castillo, and Rick Klemetson, Videographers and Webmasters.
