===============================
The next meeting of the UVTAGG (Utah Valley Technology and Genealogy Group) will be Saturday, 08 Jun 2019, 9 am to noon, at the "Red Chapel" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4056 North Timpview Dr. (650 East), Provo, Utah 84604.  The main speaker at this regular second-Saturday-of-the-month meeting will be IM MOSHER on HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR LDS ANCESTRY ACCOUNT.   Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can get a free Ancestry.com account.  This presentation will show why you would want one, how to set one up, and what you can do with it.  We will discuss Trees, Search, and the Image Viewer, will touch on DNA, and look at some of the new things Ancestry has recently released.  Come with your questions and will try to have plenty of time for discussion.   JIM MOSHER began his family history journey as an employee of Ancestry.com where he spent seven years working on the Ancestry search experience, image viewer, tree integrations, and big data analysis.  He is the author of two books on using Ancestry and serves as a Temple and Family History consultant for the Lindon 21st Ward and the BYU YSA 10th Stake.  When he doesn't know the answer to a family history or FamilySearch question, he always asks his lovely wife, Kelly.

After the main presentation the following classes are scheduled.  See the UVTAGG website and blog (URLs below) for last minute changes.
Class (1)  Jim Mosher, FAMILYSERCH/ANCESTRY INTEGRATION
Class (2)  Video from last month's main presentation: Lisa Ratzlaff on LIFE'S SECOND CERTAINTY: TAXES
Class (3)  Don Engstrom, Lee Cox, and Rick Klemetson, ASK AN EXPERT (Rick will also answer DNA questions.)
Class (4)  Gaylon Findlay, ANCESTRAL QUEST

The Group has the goal of helping individuals use technology to further their family history and the meeting, open to the public ,whether Group members or not, have something for everyone, especially Latter-day Saint Temple and Family History Consultants.  To watch the meeting streamed live at 9 am that morning, go to the Group's UVTAGG Facebook page or click the link on the Group's website  https://www.uvtagg.org/ .  To watch the class streamed live, repeat the processclass period, usually about !0:40 am.  The videos remain on Facebook for free for a month.  To receive the press releases by email sign up on the blog  http://blog.uvtagg.org/ .

The Group sometimes teaches free online family history classes and help sessions at times other than the regular meetings.  Information and how to register will be announced at the meeting and will be posted on the website and in the monthly newsletter TAGGology.  Benefits of membership ($15/year) include receiving TAGGology via email and having access to the more than 400 past presentations and classes on the website  Officers are Gerhard Ruf, President; Laurie Castillo, 1st VP; Don Snow, 2nd VP; Marilyn Thomsen, Newsletter Editor; Rayanne Melick, Finance Officer; Bruce Merrill and Marie Andersen, Video Librarians; Eileen Phelps, Special Projects Coordinator; Carol Hill, FamilySearch Facebook Groups Coordinator, and Rick Wightman, Chris Stevenson, Brent Nelson, Jerry Castillo, and Rick Klemetson, Videographers and Webmasters.  Several of these will be at the meeting to help with membership and sell to members the inexpensive DVDs of past presentations and classes.  Gift memberships and DVDs make good presents for the family history-minded and, especially, for Temple and Family History Consultants.  Volunteers who help with the organization get reduced rates for membership and the Group always needs workers.  For further information about UVTAGG contact President Gerhard Ruf at pres@uvtagg.org  (801-225-6106), or 1st VP Laurie Castillo at gengal@comcast.net , or 2nd VP Don Snow at snowd@math.byu.edu .
