10-11 am MST: RON TANNER on FAMILYSEARCH FAMILY TREE: WHAT'S NEW AND WHAT'S COMING!

DESCRIPTION:  Ron Tanner will discuss the new Record Search and then have a discussions on how the Completed Reservation list works.  Next will be Family Groups and how to set them up and future plans for them. Last, he will discuss removing temple districts and changes in Ordinances Ready.  Most of the second hour will be for questions from the listeners.

ABOUT RON TANNER:
He is the Portfolio Director for FamilySearch.org in the Family History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. He leads a team with responsibilities for Family Tree, Search, Hinting, Memories, Mobile, Temple, Homepage, and other companion products. Ron has been at FamilySearch for 12 years and presents a Faebook live presentation twice a month to answer FamilySearch questions. You can attend on his Facebook page Family History Ron or review previous events on his familyhistoryron youtube channel. He has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from BYU and previously worked as a product manager and software engineer at Novell, Citrix, and Bell Laboratories. Ron and his wife, CheRee, have four children, 2 sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and six grandchildren (5 boys 1 girl)!! This is your chance to learn what’s going on and get your questions answered. Ron is always an entertaining lecturer and knows what’s happening.

All meetings of the Group are open to the public with the goal of helping people use technology to further their family and personal history.  On the blog is a way to subscribe so you receive the press releases by email.  Members of the group ($15/year), besides being able to watch on ZOOM, receive the  monthly email newsletter TAGGology and have access to the nearly 600 videos of past presentations and classes.  The TAGGology newsletter contains a wealth of information about genealogy, including information for Temple and Family History Consultants.  Free sample copies of the Newsletter can be requested by emailing Pres. Officer elections will be this month and nominations will be accepted until the night of 11 Mar.  Members will vote through Zoom at the meeting at the start of the 11:10 am class period.
