UVTAGG Meeting (Utah Valley Technology and Genealogy Group), Saturday, 08 Feb 2020, 10:00 am-Noon, free in-person and online, at the "Red Chapel" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4056 North Timpview Dr. (650 East), Provo, Utah 84604.
Main presentation 10:05-11:00 am:  MICHAEL L. STRAUSS, AG, on THE NEW DEAL:  PUTTING OUR ANCESTORS TO WORK.  Out of the New Deal programs of the 1930’s Great Depression came an abundance of records used by genealogists today as part of the 3-Rs”, Relief, Recovery, and Reform. Many documents recorded the personal experiences of our ancestors who lived then and sought help from the Federal Government.  Michael L. Strauss, AG, is a forensic investigator and qualified expert witness in the courts in NY, NJ, PA, and VA, in addition to lecturing nationally.  He has a BA in History and is a United States Coast Guard veteran.  Strauss is a faculty member of the genealogy institutes IGHR, SLIG, and GRIP and is featured regularly on the Genealogy Gems Podcasts with Lisa Louise Cooke.  He and his family live in Utah Valley.

The classes that will follow, starting at at 11:10 am, are:
(1)  Michael L. Strauss, ROOSEVELT'S TREE ARMY:  RESEARCH IN THE CCC - CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS (This class will be broadcast online after the main presentation.)

(4)  Video of last month's main presentation, Ron Tanner, DEALING WITH DIFFICULT FAMILYSEARCH FAMILY TREE TASKS
