Snow on FAMILY HISTORY AND OTHER BOOKS ONLINE.  The meeting will also be streamed live on Facebook via the link on  https://www.uvtagg.org/ .  Millions of books, family history and otherwise, are posted online. Large collections of genealogy books are on FamilySearch, Google, Internet Archive, HeritageQuest Online, MyHeritage, and many other websites. Many of the online books are every-word searchable, so you can find books that have information about you or your ancestors. We will discuss finding the books you may be interested in and downloading and viewing them.  We will also discuss the most common ebook formats, pdf, ePub, Kindle, and mobi, and how to handle non-searchable pdf's, i.e. those where it is only a picture of the printed page and not the text itself. The notes and other related information, all with active Internet links, is posted on  http://uvtagg.org/classes/dons/dons-classes.html

Don Snow is a Californian by birth, with Snow ancestors from Southern Utah.  He is a retired Professor of Mathematics from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, and has lived in several foreign countries, both for mathematics and church assignments.  After retiring from the BYU Math Faculty, he and his now deceased wife Diane, served four Family History missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  These  included being Directors of the New York Family History Center in Manhattan, in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission on a FH project ( http://earlylds.com ), and in the London Family History Centre in the Hyde Park Chapel.  Don is on the Board of Directors of the Utah Genealogical Association, is the Host of the online UGA Virtual Chapter Meetings, and has been a VP of the Utah Valley Technology and Genealogy Group since the early 1990's.  He loves teaching, is a frequent speaker at FH venues, has 6 children and 30 grandchildren, and plays accordion concerts at Senior Citizen locations.
