The next meeting of the UVTAGG (Utah Valley Technology and Genealogy Group) will be Saturday, 13 Jul 2019, 9 am to noon, at the "Red Chapel" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4056 North Timpview Dr. (650 East), Provo, Utah 84604.  The main speaker at this regular second-Saturday-of-the-month meeting will be LANCE MACINTOSH on ORGANIZING TEMPLE AND FAMILY HISTORY IN YOUR WARDS AND STAKES.  Stake and Ward Priesthood and auxiliary leaders are especially invited and Ward Consultants, as well. Lance MacIntosh will be sharing how to organize your Temple and Family History Committee in your ward and how to create a simple Family History Plan!! Lance MacIntosh is an Area Manager for FamilySearch. He provides assistance to priesthood leaders in North America.  Lance has more than 30 years of experience in the area of support and training and holds a BS degree from Brigham Young University.

The Group has the goal of helping individuals use technology to further their family history and the meetins, open to the public,whether Group members or not, have something for everyone, especially Latter-day Saint Temple and Family History Consultants.  To watch the meeting streamed live at 9 am that morning, go to the Group's UVTAGG Facebook page or click the link on the Group's website   https://www.uvtagg.org/ .  To watch the class streamed live, repeat the process during the class period starting about about !0:40 am.  The videos remain on Facebook for free for a month.  To receive the press releases by email sign up on the blog  http://blog.uvtagg.org/ .

The Group sometimes teaches free online family history classes and help sessions at times other than the regular meetings.  Information and how to register will be announced at the meeting and will be posted on the website and in the monthly newsletter TAGGology.  Benefits of membership ($15/year) include receiving TAGGology via email and having access to the more than 400 past presentations and classes on the website  Officers are Gerhard Ruf, President; Laurie Castillo, 1st VP; Don Snow, 2nd VP; Marilyn Thomsen, Newsletter Editor; Rayanne Melick, Finance Officer; Bruce Merrill and Marie Andersen, Video Librarians; Eileen Phelps, Special Projects Coordinator; Carol Hill, FamilySearch Facebook Groups Coordinator, and Rick Wightman, Chris Stevenson, Brent Nelson, Jerry Castillo, and Rick Klemetson, Videographers and Webmasters.  Several of these will be at the meeting to help with membership and sell to members the inexpensive DVDs of past presentations and classes.  Gift memberships and DVDs make good presents for the family history-minded and, especially, for Temple and Family History Consultants.  Volunteers who help with the organization get reduced rates for membership and the Group always needs helpers.  For further information about UVTAGG contact President Gerhard Ruf at pres@uvtagg.org  (801-225-6106), or 1st VP Laurie Castillo at gengal@comcast.net , or 2nd VP Don Snow at snowd@math.byu.edu .
