DESCRIPTION OF MAIN PRESENTATION:
Each country, ethnic group, and culture has its own archives, historical records, ancestral traditions, and concepts of family and tribe. See the many marvelous ways that family history is preserved, shared, and celebrated in countries and cultures around the world.
DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
Get a free subscription to Canva.com and begin creating eye catching graphics for social media, invitations, photo books, posters, bookmarks, presentations, flyers, postcards, t-shirts, etc in just a few minutes. Once you have the finished design, you can download it in various formats and then publish it to social media, send it to a print shop, or put it into an email to send as an advertisement. We will also be showing free photo sites that you can use without any copyright concerns.
ABOUT DAVID OUIMETTE:
David Ouimette, Certified Genealogist, Certified Genealogical Lecturer, manages Content Strategy at FamilySearch, focusing on written and oral records of genealogical value for digital preservation in Asia and the Pacific. His team prioritizes camera placement and targets records in national, regional, and local archives. David has researched in several hundred archives in over sixty countries spanning all continents. Previously, David was product manager at Ancestry.com, responsible for family trees, U.S. records, DNA testing, and the search experience. He serves as a Trustee for the Board for Certification of Genealogists and has served as Vice President of the Utah Genealogical Association and on the board of the National Genealogical Society. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from Brigham Young University, has contributed articles to many magazines and journals, and authored Finding Your Irish Ancestors: A Beginner’s Guide.
ABOUT CAROL HILL:
Carol Hill is the Family History and Temple Consultant trainer for the 6 stake Lindon Family History Center and as a Young Single Adult Stake family history consultant. Recently, Carol ended a 6 year Family History Service mission as a Facebook Administrator. Since earning a bachelor's degree in Family History from BYU in 2003, Carol has been helping others with their family history. Check out her FreeGenealogyHelp.com website to see Family History YouTube videos that help viewers understand different features of FamilySearch, and other genealogy sites as well. She loves her 6 children, 26 grandchildren, and wonderful husband who loves developing Family History Mobile Apps.
ABOUT MARILYN THOMSEN:
Marilyn Thomsen, the editor of UVTAGG's newsletter, loves helping friends and family with their research. She graduated with a B.A. in family history from Brigham Young University, completing an internship at the National Archive Branch in Atlanta, Georgia. Twice she won BYU's award for her family histories. She has served missions at the Family History Library in SLC and as a US & Canada service missionary. She served as Director of the Alpine Multi-stake, Lindon Multi Stake, and Orem Sunset Heights Tri-Stake Family History Centers in Utah. Her husband, Richard, shares her passion for digging up dead relatives and connecting them to living relatives.

As usual, recent presentations and classes are on Facebook and on the UVTAGG YouTube channel.
All meetings of the Group are open to the public with the goal of helping people use technology to further their family and personal history. On the blog is a way to subscribe to receive the press releases by email. Members of the group ($15/year), besides being able to watch on ZOOM, receive the monthly email newsletter TAGGology and have access to the nearly 600 videos of past presentations and classes. The TAGGology newsletter contains a wealth of information about genealogy, including information for Temple and Family History Consultants.
