DESCRIPTION:  Ron Tanner will discuss the new Record Search and then have a discussions on how the Completed Reservation list works.  Next will be Family Groups and how to set them up and future plans for them. Last, he will discuss removing temple districts and changes in Ordinances Ready.  Most of the second hour will be for questions from the listeners.

ABOUT RON TANNER:
He is the Portfolio Director for FamilySearch.org in the Family History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. He leads a team with responsibilities for Family Tree, Search, Hinting, Memories, Mobile, Temple, Homepage, and other companion products. Ron has been at FamilySearch for 12 years and presents a Faebook live presentation twice a month to answer FamilySearch questions. You can attend on his Facebook page Family History Ron or review previous events on his familyhistoryron youtube channel. He has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from BYU and previously worked as a product manager and software engineer at Novell, Citrix, and Bell Laboratories. Ron and his wife, CheRee, have four children, 2 sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and six grandchildren (5 boys 1 girl)!! This is your chance to learn what’s going on and get your questions answered. Ron is always an entertaining lecturer and knows what’s happening.

Mr. Ehat, a resident of Lindon, Utah, is a California attorney and has been the director of the Lindon Family History Center, serving six stakes in Lindon and Orem.  Since 1969 he has performed genealogical research in American, German, French, Irish, Slovakian, and Italian records.  He and his wife Jeanine have five sons and twenty-one grandchildren.

About JAMES L. TANNER:
He has a B.A. Degree in Spanish, an M.A. Degree in Linguisticsfrom the University of Utah, and a J.D. Degree in Law, from Arizona State University. He was a trial attorney in Arizona for 39 years and a genealogical researcher for 38 years. He is a major genealogy blogger and two of his popular blogs are Genealogy's Star and Rejoice, and be exceeding glad. He has spent 18 years as a Family History Volunteer and is presently serving at the BYU Family History Library.

About the presentations:
Probate files are some of the most valuable records for genealogical research. They often contain the deceased ancestor's will and other important information. In order to understand what happens when a person dies you need to have a basic understanding of the terminology of probate files. This class will be in two parts to cover some of the basic concepts and many of the most used terms. Come and learn how important these records can be to find some of your most elusive ancestors.
